Marketing feasibility study of the commercial viability of the project of growing potatoes, carrots, beets, onions and cabbage near Novosibirsk

Novosibirsk market of fresh "borsch" group vegetables can be characterized as the most developed among all the subjects of the Siberian district. Nevertheless, the high share of imported products indicates the continuing unsatisfied solvent demand, which cannot be covered by producers from Novosibirsk region and nearest regions, and the air logistics several thousand kilometers away from Central and Southern Russia makes such vegetables much more expensive.

Average assortment of the most common Novosibirsk chain grocery retailers and online stores in the middle of last summer included 5-6 kinds of potatoes of all kinds, 3-4 kinds of onions and 1-2 kinds of carrots. Beets were much rarer in the stores studied (1 type on average), even less offers were fresh white cabbage (only in every 3 stores out of 4).
