LLC "Greenhouse complex "Elets vegetables", launched by Maxim Sokolov, intends to organize 10 hectares' production of greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes in the Lipetsk region. At the initial stage the project cost is 2.5 billion rubles. The similar project is implemented in Dankovsky district of the region - LLC "Greenhouse "Lipetskagro" builds the third stage of the greenhouse complex, which is considered to be the firsts fifth-generation complex in Russia. Experts believe that Lipetsk vegetables can occupy a significant share of the national market.
According to "Growth Technology", in 2015 the gross yield of greenhouse vegetables of all farms categories in the Lipetsk region was 13.5 thousand tons (in 2014 - 8.5 thousand tons). Among the producers of Belgorod region is the only one region where the yield was higher and totaled 18.2 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables. In the Voronezh region, the figure was 10.8 thousand tons, in Kursk region -. 5.8 thousand tons, in Tambov region -. 5.5 thousand tons. Large-scale greenhouse projects for vegetable cultivation has been announced in all territories of the macro-region were in recent years.
Tamara Reshetnikova, the Director of "Growth Technology", believes that about 5-6 billion rubles can be invested in the implementation of the whole "Elets vegetables" project. The expert noted that capacity of the similar project, made by Maxim Sokolov in the Dankov district surpassed the previously declared amount and may equal to more than 30 thousand tons of vegetables a year. "Greenhouses of the fifth generation are primarily aimed at cultivation of tomatoes, but "LipetskAgro" tried to grow cucumbers as well, and succeeded in this", - explained Mrs. Reshetnikova. In her opinion, the market of the region is too thin for the future output of both greenhouse complexes: "Companies will have to enter the national market, where they may become one of the market majors".
