General information on a research

Now the Russian greenhouse business is at a stage of active growth, and the market is characterized by strengthening of consolidation, increase in technological effectiveness and increase in the internal competition.

Strong monetary state support at the level of the regional authorities for investment projects and the infrastructure together with pressure decrease of import on commodity market, made construction of large vegetable greenhouses commercially attractive.

In 2018 in comparison with 2014, commodity production of vegetables and greens in the protected soil grew by 1.5 times whereas deliveries from abroad for the last 5 years were reduced by 1.4 times.

As showed calculations of "Growth Technology", at the time of carrying out the research (November, 2018) deficiency of domestic production of greenhouse products for ensuring import substitution on the current solvent demand, makes 880 - 900 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables. Calculations also include characteristic of each federal district: import of vegetables which really remain in districts for local population, interregional import and export after customs clearance; and traditional interregional export from domestic greenhouses.

Distribution of vegetables deficiency on Russian districts is very unevenly, and it also depends on a number of factors which the potential investor of future greenhouse projects has to consider.
